Same thing for when they say “right” – the gifts move to the right. So for instance if you have 20 people playing, you would do two sets of 20 cards (A-K of hearts and A-7 of spades). Start the gift with one person who has to pass the gift off to someone who matches the description in their line of the poem. If you’d rather make the game a little simpler and less time consuming, you can just start everyone with a gift at the beginning of the game. Play music and have everyone pass their gifts around until the music stops. When the music stops everyone opens their gift and goes home with that gift.

Okay so once you have your gifts and your book, have everyone sit in a circle close enough that it’s easy to pass a gift quickly to the person on their left and right. Everyone brings a gift – in this version have everyone bring a gift (give them a theme or not!) and those gifts will be passed around during the gift exchange. This is an ingenious Christmas gift exchange idea for family members that live in different parts of the country.

Each time the reader says the word “left,” everyone passes their gift to the left.

Or go for the weirdest, funniest, craziest ones you can find online. You can have each person do this individually, or have all the gifts in one place for the whole family to find. Have each giver tie their gift to a ball of colorful yarn , then hide the gift and trail the yarn throughout the house.
Use whatever gift exchange method or game you want from this list, so long as it involves stealing. Instruct party attendees to buy a new pair of socks, and fill them with small treats, gifts, or gift cards. The right left Christmas gift exchange is one I’ve seen played at numerous parties, and I hear about pretty much every single year.
Once all statements are read, make sure no one ended up with the item they brought, then have everyone open their gift. With both of these, you’ll obviously want to come up with a a way to make sure everyone gets a gift. Plus you want people to stay interested and involved, so don’t do it where anyone who has a gift sits out.
